On this day, Nanda Maharaja(Father of Krishna) officially passed on the responsibility of taking care of cows of Vrindavan. In the Hindu religion, the status of the mother has been raised to that of a Goddess. Hence, Cow is considered a holy animal as it is docile and provides us with life sustaining milk unconditionally.
