Fantastic Natraja or Dancing Shiva Stone Statue for Indoors and Outdoors

A stunning Shiva statue as the Lord of Dance, Nataraj. The dance signifies the destruction and signaling the creation of a new world by the Lord Brahma, He is enveloped in an arch of flames, while lifting his left leg and is seen balancing on a Devil.In this form, The Nataraj is always depicted with his four hands. Left foot rest on a demon Apasmara, which signifies liberation. A cobra uncoils from his lower right lower arm. The upper right hand holds a "Damru", a little drum shaped instrument. The second right hand is in 'Abhayamudra' which means security against unholy and darkness. The upper left hand contains fire which symbolizes destruction and the second left hand focuses towards the raised foot which implies freedom. This is carved from the soft stone of Orissa by artisans whose ancestors have practiced this craft of stone carving for centuries. Hammers and chisels of various sizes and shapes, called the Muna, Patili, Martual, Thuk-Thuki and Nitana are used to bring life these life-like figures from featureless stone. Once engraved, the finishing Is done by scrapping out the extra material using a flat-edged iron tool.
