Namastey! Let's get to know each other a bit here. This is a small brief below.
I am the only one from my family in this country now who weaves the Dhurries, or Kharad made for the royalty. The kings and queens of the time would adorn their palaces with Kharad. His family has been weaving rugs for generations. Initially, the weavers created these rugs out of coarse animal hair, either goat or camel. Therefore, these rugs were almost monochromatic, with only the natural breed colour of the animal. Also, known as jhatpatti rugs, literally meaning made in haste, they were used only for domestic purpose. At Respect Origins, we showcase our unique collection of Rugs & Dhurrie woven with dyed cotton yarns depicting various complex geometric patterns with playful colors. Using all natural colors and some unseen knotting technique. Respect Origins celebrates works of our Kutchi Artisans and aides in expanding our market place.
Respect Origins works to promote heritage arts and crafts. This is our opportunity to reach a customer base that is interested in our products. They have set-up this online store for us and we do not need to promote our products by writing about them or selling them ourselves. They do all the marketing, courier and payment gateways also.
We are happy to take large orders for extra-large sizes or make products especially for you in the theme designs you prefer. Please use the Commission It or the Bulk Order form or simply contact us here.
